MANILA, Philippines – After being appointed as the ambassador of the Philippine International Arts Festival, multi-awarded television host Boy Abunda came to the defense of President Benigno Aquino III, saying that the President has nothing to do with his appointment.
Abunda clarified this on “Showbiz News Ngayon” Tuesday.
“May mga reporters yata na nagtanong sa Malacañang if I was appointed by the President in this position. Walang kinalaman po dito ang Presidente,” he said.
According to Abunda, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts invited him to be its representative.
“I was invited by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts to be its arts ambassador or its spokesperson,” said Abunda.
Abunda also shared how much he values this position.
“You know the theater, the cultural community and the arts have been very good to me. Ito’y mahalagang position,” he said.
